Iron Man (real name Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark) is a character who appears in the Marvel Comics animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. He is an alternate reality version of the character with the same name from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Iron Man was created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Don Heck.
Background[]
Anthony Stark is the son of Howard and Maria Stark, who both died when Tony was 21 years old after being killed by the Winter Soldier through HYDRA orders and brainwashing. Following his parents' deaths, Tony inherited Stark Industries and in 2011, after being captured by the Ten Rings, following his return to the United States, Tony built his suits to become known as Iron Man, revealing his identity to the world.
Iron Man was later recruited by Nick Fury to form the Avengers, which consisted of Captain America, Clint Barton, Natasha Romonoff, Bruce Banner's Hulk and Thor Odinson, becoming known as the "world's mightiest heroes".
However, in 2015, the Avengers fell apart due to the Sokivia accords, led by Thaddeus Ross, causing Tony and Steve to end their friendship as a result, which became worldwide news.
Role in the series[]
In a parallel universe, the mentor role Tony Stark had with Peter Parker in the main universe is given to Norman Osborn instead of a variant of Iron Man. However, Iron Man does make a couple of cameo appearances in some episodes, like in the first episode in which May Parker has an Iron Man blushie attached to her mirror inside her car, and the battle between Iron Man and Captain America is shown to have happened in this universe, only Spider-Man is not apart of the airport battle as Iron Man has not recruited him to join his side of the fight, like in the 616 universe.
Iron Man makes his first physical appearance in the eighth episode "Tangled Web", when he is tasked to bring in Doctor Otto Octavius, as orders from Thaddeus Ross, following Spider-Man's injury and advice to rest after a brutal battle against Scorpion.
Trivia[]

- It is currently unknown if this version of Tony Stark is in a relationship with Pepper Potts, but is likely since other events from the main timeline have happened in this world.
- The music used for Iron Man's entrance in "Tangled Web" is the Avengers theme.
