Ironheart (real name Riri Williams) is a superheroine who appears in the Marvel Rising franchise. She is a fifteen-year-old engineering student at Empire Tech and one of the school's youngest students.
Ironheart was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato.
Background[]
After losing her stepdad in a car accident, she was inspired by the likes of Tony Stark and his exploits as Iron Man to use her mechanical expertise to become a superhero. She was able to design and build an Iron suit in her garage, including an arc reactor. However, her desire to become a superhero and help others caused a strain on her friendship with Natalie. She became socially isolated with an artificial intelligence she called A.M.I. as her only companion.
At the age of fifteen, she enrolled into college, becoming the youngest student on campus. After Hala the Accuser destroys the school's engineering lab and kidnaps A.M.I., Riri assists the Secret Warriors in defeating Hala. Unfortunately, she had to sacrifice A.M.I. to save the day. But she found real friends among the Secret Warriors. She constructed a new Iron suit and joined the team as Ironheart.
