The It first appears in his headquarters Central Central Intelligence watching over Meg, Charles, and Calvin who have arrived at the planet Camazotz where the three manage to survive a violent sandstorm and end up in the local neighborhood to survive the area, followed by the three talking to a few local residents to know where the headquarters are at to which the three approach the Central Central Intelligence headquarters to face the It. Later, the It's agent, the Man with Red Eyes, appears in front of Meg, Charles, Calvin, and Mr. Murry where he faces the four to which Charles' father tells him to stay away from this being to which the Man denies, explaining that he helps his people achieve understanding by serving and being the voice. Despite the warnings given by Meg and her father, Meg's brother, Charles Wallace, then accepts his offer where the Man controls his mind under a corrupting influence where his mind is taken over by It in process. Charles, under the control of the malevolent being, puts Meg midair while Calvin and Meg's father attempt to rescue her and escape where Meg's father uses Mrs. Who's pair of glasses to escape, much to the It's notice, causing Meg to be separated from her father and Calvin.
After Meg returns back to Camazotz, Meg arrives at the spot where Charles Wallace (under control by the Man with Red Eyes) who is serving the It at a dining room Meg confronts It where he offers a strawberry banana smoothie to Meg to which she rejects his offer. Later while confronting the It, Meg begins counting the numbers the elements of the periodic table from one to thirteen in order to which a vision of Calvin suddenly appears to distract Charles and get him out of the It's influence.
However, after Meg finds out that her return to the real world was all an illusion, Meg felt upset that Charles Wallace (still serving the Man with Red Eyes) sent her to the event that was actually part of It's lies. The Man with Red Eyes explains that he can make a very long and miserable life where he tosses a piece of chalk at Meg where she finds herself at the Westover Community School to which as the Man with Red Eyes appears, he explains to Meg that Charles has been a threat to him to which Meg denies, inspiring Meg to rescue Charles Wallace from then Man with Red Eyes. A Wrinkle in Time (2018)[]
In a vision, Mrs. Which narrates that the It's home may be Camazotz, but is encountered through darkness where his reach spreads far beyond, even on Earth and the only thing in the universe that travels faster than light is the darkness, effecting everything negatively on Earth.
The It (disguised as Red) appears where he approaches Meg, Calvin, and Charles, just as Meg asks him if he knows about her father, which Red tells her that she saw him a couple of minutes ago. Red replies that Meg's father is a busy man, just as he tells the three that there is nothing to worry about. Offering them dinner, Red holds a tray of sandwiches, which Calvin and Charles are tempted to eat the food, where the two realize that the sandwich he gave them taste like sand, Charles becomes Red's servant, just as Red himself reveals to be the Man with Red Eyes, much to Meg's worry, just as the sandwich that Calvin was eating was revealed to be made of sand, causing Calvin's sandwich to disintegrate into sand. This results in Meg and Calvin to chase after Red to save Charles, just as the two find themselves in a white spherical building known as Central Central Intelligence.
Arriving at Red's lair, Meg and Calvin confront the It for making Charles Wallace his servant, but a corrupted Charles prevents them from coming any further, which Charles tells them that he serves the It. Meg defends Calvin from the It, just as Meg tells Charles that she must find her missing father and remember what her father taught him, but Charles refuses, as the It tells them that everything is enough when he tells them it's enough. Meg then uses Mrs. Who's glasses to find a hidden invisible platform to rescue her father, but the It possessing Calvin attacks Meg, her father, and Calvin. With the three dragged into a dark corridor, Meg senses Red revealing his true identity, a large dark being known as the It as the It tells the three that they are powerless against him, even when he controls Charles Wallace. However, just before Dr. Murry can bring Meg back home before the It can destroy them, the room begins to undulate.
Remembering the good moments she had with Charles, Meg finds herself in a dark space where she finds the It in his true form just as he finds Charles Wallace in the dark space. Charles (under possession of the It) tells Meg to meet the It just as Charles controls the It's arms while finding herself in the darkest mind in the universe, just before being faced by another Meg who is a cooler version of herself. Meg refuses to join the It, causing the cooler version of herself to disappear, just as the It threatens to kill her, telling her that every bad thing Meg thinks about herself is true. Meg remembers the advice the Mrs. Ws gave to her and plans to face off against the It, using an act of love she shows to Charles, much to the It feeling furious that Meg is destroying him. Just as Meg tells Charles that she loves him, the It starts weakening while attacking grabbing her with his arms just as the arms suddenly drop her. Charles (who is free from the It) approaches Meg who tearfully approaches her who is brought back to life, causing the It to be fully disintegrated and entirely wiped away. As a result, Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who appear and congratulate Meg for her faults that she used to save Charles Wallace. Mrs. Who tells Meg that she weakened that It and gave the Earth and everyone on it a real chance, as the Mrs. Ws deem Meg as a warrior who saved the universe from the It, undoing all the negativity the It caused.
