Izayoi Elementary School is the place of primary education on Izayoi Island. It appears during the first two seasons of Stitch!.
Background[]
The school's main building appears to be a two-story building situated on the middle of Izayoi Island, teaching students from 1st grade to 5th grade. Yuna Kamihara, Taro, Penny, Kenny, Marvin, and Ted attend a 4th grade class taught by Ms. Kawasaki on the second floor. In the second season, Sasha joins their class, while Yuna's cousin Tigerlily Sakai takes over Ms. Kawasaki's class as Yuna and her classmates' teacher late in the season. The first floor (ground floor) appears to be larger than the second floor thanks to an additional wing. There also appears to be surrounding ancillary buildings that may be part of the school campus, which is surrounded by walls and fencing. In front of the school is a large yard that has a small wooden stage, an association football (soccer) goal without netting, and a dirt track. In the episode "Link-age", the students attempted to build a new playground made of wood for a school festival, but Stitch and a few of his "cousins", namely Hammerface, Woody, and Spike, destroy their creations. However, Stitch later gets them and Link to build an impressive new playground.
The third season has Yuna and Tigerlily moving off Izayoi Island to live in New Town, thus making them no longer part of Izayoi Elementary's respective student body and faculty. In the original Japanese version of the episode "New Town", it is explained via a flashback that the reason for their move was because the school was closing down after the next year, with Tigerlily transferring to the city. It is not explained why the school itself was closing. Yuna's Gramma wanted her young granddaughter to move with Tigerlily to the city to continue her education, but Yuna was initially resistant to the idea due to being attached to her island home. However, Stitch convinced Yuna to do so, saying that he'll always be there for her and doing a pinky swear as a promise. This detail about the school's ultimate fate is dropped from the English dub, with Yuna just solemnly saying to Stitch that Gramma wanted her to live with Tigerlily on the main island for no apparent reason. The fates of the other students are unknown, since they don't appear during Shin-Ei's season or specials, although it is presumed that they either continued living on the island or have also moved off-island to continue their educations.
