John Walter "Jack" Cutting was an American animator turned American international content supervisor for Walt Disney Animation Studios, where he worked for 46 years. He was considered among the frontrunners for synchronizing sound and image.

Cutting was born on January 9, 1908, in New York City and attended the Otis College of Art and Design. Among his peers at this time, included future Disney animators Wilfred Jackson and John Hench. After graduating, he was referred to the studio and began as an animator with the Silly Symphonies unit. Moving his way up in the company, Cutting became an assistant to director David Hand and soon became a director for shorts, like the 1939 remake of The Ugly Duckling which won the 1940 Oscar in Best Short Subject (Cartoons).

Prior to this feat, Cutting, following the success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, convinced Walt and his brother, Roy O. Disney to let him work with dubbing the film for other countries. He soon became the head of the Foreign Department in 1938 and would supervise the translation and dubbing of all the companies films. He held this position until his retirement in 1975.

As the growing conflict in Europe grew, Cutting was one of a few employees not drafted into the armed forces and headed the company's Editorial Department for a year. Later, Walt asked him to take part in his goodwill tour of South America with a select group of employees. He worked with the film crew during the trip and the experience helped him enhance his job in translating the works that would become Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros.

Cutting died on August 17, 1988, in North Hollywood, California.
