Jake McDuck, also known as Uncle Jake, is Scrooge McDuck's uncle, and Pothole McDuck, and Fergus McDuck's brother.

Jake McDuck is first mentioned in the Carl Barks story A Christmas for Shacktown (1952), when Donald Duck is trying to get Uncle Scrooge to donate money to the less fortunate, Donald dresses up as "Old uncle Jake McDuck", in an attempt to make Scrooge believe it is him. When Donald confronts Scrooge dressed as Jake, however, Scrooge claimed his elderly uncle owed his $8,326 with cumulated interests, after Jake borrowed a shilling from his nephew "sixty years ago". Donald's attempt at dressing as Jake McDuck failed, as Scrooge wanted his money to be paid back.

40 years later, Don Rosa used Uncle Jake for his series The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, where it is shown that Jake McDuck, who never married, lived with his brother Fergus, his wife Downy McDuck, as well as their three children, Scrooge, Matilda, and Hortense.

According to Don Rosa's timeline, Jake was born to 'Dirty' DIngus McDuck and Molly Mallard in 1832, he was the second of three sons, although Rosa also stated Jake was born in 1840, and was the last child. [1] In 1885, Jake and his brother Fergus's family moved to Castle McDuck, but he apparently no longer lives there by 1902, when Fergus McDuck died. Jake McDuck's death year is unknown, however Scrooge and Donald appeared to believe he was alive.

In Don Rosa's unpublished sketch "The History of the Clan McDuck", Jake is said to be a stockyard hand.

In the Italian Topolino comics, Jake McDuck often appears in flashbacks.[2]
