James Joseph Gandolfini, Jr. was an American actor, best known for his role as Tony Soprano on the HBO drama series The Sopranos from 1999 to 2007, winning both the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series three times. Gandolfini's other roles include the woman-beating mob henchman Virgil in True Romance, enforcer/stuntman Bear in Get Shorty, and the impulsive Wild Thing Carol in Where the Wild Things Are.

For Disney, he portrayed Tony Baldessari in the 1992 Hollywood Pictures film, A Stranger Among Us, Billy Coyle in Money for Nothing, Vinnie in Angie, Ben Pinkwater in Terminal Velocity, Lt. Bobby Dougherty in Crimson Tide, Kiefer in the 1997 Miramax Films film, She's So Lovely, Kenny Kane in the 1998 Miramax Films film, The Mighty, and Al Love in the 1998 Touchstone Pictures film, A Civil Action.
