"Janja's New Crew" is the seventeenth episode of the Disney Jr. animated series The Lion Guard. It premiered on August 26, 2016.
Plot[]
The Pride Lands are recovering from a storm from the night before and the Lion Guard is on the lookout for mudslides. Nearby, Janja and his crew are nearby planning to attack some wilderbeasts for food when Janja is sent sliding through some mud into the Lion Guard who tell the hyenas to get out. Once back in the Outlands, Janja blames Cheezi and Chungu for what happened and boots them out of his crew. He then promotes Nne and Tano and orders them to make Cheezi and Chungu get lost, which they do.
Back in the Pride Lands, the Lion Guard discovers a mudslide which they start clearing out. Back in the Outlands, Nne and Tano prove themselves to be just as ruthless as Janja and even more undenably intelligent than he is when they come up a clever plan to get food: They will cause an antelope stampede so the Lion Guard will chase after them and then they will go after Oraxes and make them dinner. Janja agrees with the plan despite not really getting it which he voices when he states "Still not sure why we're giving up a nice juicy bone for a rock." Meanwhile, Cheezi and Chungu arrive and start to make themselves at home. When the Lion Guard discover them, the pair tell them what happened and Kion reluctantly lets them stay.
Meanwhile, Janja and his new crew execute their plan and it goes well despite Janja's lack of understanding of what the plan is. Eventually, Nne and Tano ditch Janja after they become annoyed by his stupidity and how poorly he understood the plan. After they find him, Janja tells the Lion Guard. The Lion Guard stop Nne and Tano. Janja welcomes Cheezi and Chungu back into his crew and they head back to the Outlands.
