- Jealousy is one of the 9 original emotions that the writers chose during the development of Inside Out 2, but in the end it was discarded.
- The character was originally portrayed as a forest-green male Emotion, but was later portrayed as a female Emotion whose color ranged from mint green to purple.
- Another idea contemplated for Jealousy is that originally she and Envy would be portrayed as twin sisters so similar that the rest of Emotions would find it difficult to differentiate them; This is in reference to the fact that many people do not distinguish the difference between jealousy and envy, since they are similar feelings.
