Jean Stapleton was an American actress and singer, who was best known for her role as Edith Bunker in the CBS sitcom All in the Family from 1971 to 1979. She was also a singer who appeared in musicals such as Damn Yankees, Bells Are Ringing, and the teleplay Something's Afoot (1984).
Some of her Disney roles included Mrs. Jenkins in Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World, Mother Goose in Mother Goose Rock 'n' Rhyme, and a guest appearance on The Muppet Show in episode 306. She also made a brief appearance in the 1979 special The Muppets Go Hollywood. In addition, she contributed a "Sheba Casserole" recipe for Miss Piggy's 1996 cookbook In the Kitchen with Miss Piggy.
