Jemma Simmons is a "bio-chemist" working for S.H.I.E.L.D. "who specializes in life sciences (both human and alien) and is the close partner of Agent Leo Fitz."
Biography
Genius bio-chemist Jemma Simmons is a rising star in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s research division, along with her inseparable friend and partner, Leo Fitz. The two are usually found bickering, but they are always found together. Simmons has a love for science and a wide-eyed enthusiasm for the world that make this opportunity to work in the field the adventure of a lifetime.[1] She was stranded in space for a few months when trapped by the Obelisk.
Personality
Simmons is very intelligent and an expert in science and species (both human and alien). She is very loyal to her partner, Leo Fitz, whom she attended university with prior to joining S.H.I.E.L.D. She often speaks very fast and has an excellent sense of humor, even mocking Agents Ward and Coulson from time to time. She cares very much for S.H.I.E.L.D. and it's cause, as she was willing to sacrifice herself for the team when she believed she was infected.
