Jesse Gaetano McCartney is an American actor, singer-songwriter, and voice actor. For Disney, he voiced Roxas and Ventus in the Kingdom Hearts video game series, and Terence in the Tinker Bell films. He also appeared as himself in the Disney Channel Original Series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (episode "Rock Star in the House") and Hannah Montana (episode "When You Wish You Were the Star"). In addition, he had a recurring role in the Freeform sitcom Young & Hungry as Cooper Finley. His single "Right Where You Want Me" (with edited lyrics) is also the main song for the Disney Channel Original Movie Return to Halloweentown.
McCartney was born in Ardsley, Westchester, New York and began performing in local community musicals at the age of seven, when he debuted his role in Oliver!, before joining the national tour of The King and I at age ten along with Phil of the Future star Ricky Ullman where he played the character of Louis. In 1998, he sang with the group Sugar Beats and can be heard on their 1998, 1999, and 2000 CD releases. He also became a member of the group Dream Street with four other singers including Chris Trousdale and Frankie J. Galasso. After the group disbanded, McCartney embarked on a solo career. Some of his notable songs include "Beautiful Soul", "She's No You", "Because You Live", "Leavin'", "How Do You Sleep?", and "Body Language".
He also began acting in films like the live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks film series as Theodore, Horton Hears a Who!, Keith, and Chernobyl Diaries.
