Jessica Michelle Chastain is an American actress and film producer, best known for her portrayals of women in films with feminist themes. Her accolades include a Golden Globe Award and two Academy Award nominations. She received critical acclaim for her role as Maya in the 2012 war thriller film Zero Dark Thirty, which earned her the Broadcast Film Critics Association for Best Actress and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, as well as an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination. She also voiced Gia in Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. She is currently portraying an older Beverly Marsh in the upcoming film, It: Chapter Two (2019).

For Disney, she played Celia Foote in the 2011 DreamWorks/Touchstone Pictures film adaptation of The Help, which earned her a Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress nomination, and recently posed as Merida in the Disney Dream Portrait Series.

She plays Vuk in Fox's Dark Phoenix .

  • Chastain was originally cast in the role of Maya Hansen in Iron Man 3,[1] but at the end, she passed the role to Rebecca Hall due to scheduling conflicts.
