James Eugene "Jim" Carrey is a Canadian-American actor, comedian, author, artist, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his various film roles, such as Stanley Ipkiss/The Mask in the 1994 comedy film The Mask, the titular character of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and its 1995 sequel, Lloyd Christmas in Dumb and Dumber and its 2014 sequel, The Riddler/Edward Nygma in Batman Forever, the titular character of The Cable Guy, Fletcher Reede in Liar Liar, Truman Burbank in The Truman Show, the titular character of the 2000 live-action adaptation of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Count Olaf, the main antagonist of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, the titular character of Blue Sky's 2008 adaptation of Horton Hears a Who!, and Thomas Popper, Jr. in Mr. Popper's Penguins. He also portrayed Dr. Ivo Robotnik in the 2020 Paramount Pictures film Sonic the Hedgehog and its 2022 sequel.

For Disney, he voiced Ebenezer Scrooge in all of his various forms, as well as all three ghosts in the 2009 Robert Zemeckis adaptation of A Christmas Carol, while also providing motion capture. He also portrayed an adult Joe Wenteworth in the 1998 Hollywood Pictures film Simon Birch.
