Jim comes from a family that is implied to be broken and uncoordinated. Because of this, he behaves in a more carefree and sometimes aggressive manner. He has a habit of making up stories about his absentee father, whom he still holds in high regard. Jim is a troublemaker and has a more embittered attitude than Will. He tries to take advantage of whatever comes his way, but is an all around well-meaning kid who wishes to be taken seriously by being older.
