Joseph V. "Joe" Russo is an American director, producer, and actor, known for his collaborations with his older brother, Anthony Russo, with whom he leads their own production company, AGBO.
For Disney, Joe co-directed (alongside Anthony) the Marvel Studios films Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), the latter which is currently the second highest grossing film of all-time, Avengers: Doomsday (2026), and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027). The duo also directed the mid-credits scenes of Ant-Man (2015) and Captain Marvel (2019). In addition, Joe directed the Agent Carter episode "Bridge and Tunnel".
Joe has also made several cameos through his films in the MCU, all of them under the alias "Gozie Agbo": He played Doctor Fine and the man who interviewed Peggy Carter in The Winter Soldier, psychiatrist Theo Broussard in Civil War, and an homosexual grieving man. He also appeared as Bert in a deleted scene in Infinity War and provided uncredited additional motion-capture for Thanos in Endgame when actor Josh Brolin was unavailable.[1]
Joe, alongside Anthony, will produce the upcoming live-action remake of Hercules, through AGBO, for Walt Disney Pictures,[2] and Superfudge for Disney Television Animation and Disney+.[3]

Trivia[]
- Joe, alongside Anthony, are the third MCU directors to work on a live-action remake of an animated Disney film, following Thor director Kenneth Branagh (who directed 2015's Cinderella), and Iron Man and Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau (who directed 2016's The Jungle Book and 2019's The Lion King).
- However, unlike Branagh and Favreau, the Russo brothers will work as producers only in Hercules.
- Joe is a fan of 1997's Hercules.[4]
