John Marwood Cleese is an English actor, voice actor, comedian, screenwriter, and producer, who is well-known for his distinctive raspy voice. He is well known for his role as Basil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers, as well as various roles in the Monty Python movies. He also played Nearly Headless Nick in the Harry Potter films, and voiced Cat R. Waul, the main antagonist of the 1991 Universal animated film An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, Jean-Bob the frog in the 1994 animated film The Swan Princess, and King Harold in the Shrek franchise.

For Disney, he guest-starred in Episode 223 of The Muppet Show, voiced Ape in the George of the Jungle films and narrated various Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse Works cartoons, including "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Around the World in Eighty Days", "The Nutcracker", and "Mickey's Mechanical House". He also played the role of Dr. Julius Plumford in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book and a grizzled sergeant in Around the World in 80 Days. Additionally, he voiced Mercury in Valiant and Bulldog in the 2013 animated film, Planes. He even played Martin in the ABC TV show Speechless.
