John Estill Vickery is an American actor and singer, who started his career with Disney as the Hotel Manager in the Touchstone Pictures film Big Business. He also performed in the original Broadway production of The Lion King, in which he played Scar. Additionally, he portrayed the Auctioneer in the Pirates of the Caribbean short film Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code: Wedlocked.

He attended the University of California at Davis where he pursued a degree in mathematics and studied acting at the Drama Studio in London and worked in many productions in New York City. Such productions included Macbeth, Ned & Jack, Eminent Domain, The Real Thing, and The Sisters Rosensweig. He performs frequently at the nation's leading regional theaters, including South Coast Repertory, Mark Taper Forum, Old Globe Theatre, McCarter Theatre, and Long Wharf Theatre.

He also appeared in various television shows, like Babylon 5, Crusade, Crime Story, One life to Live, Modern Family, Medium, NCIS, NYPD Blue, Frasier, Time Squad, Cagney & Lacey, Without a Trace, Judging Amy, L.A. Law, and Wings, as well as miniseries, like Till We Meet Again, I Know My First Name Is Steven, and Napoleon and Josephine: A Love Story. Additionally, he appeared in three Star Trek spinoffs: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Star Trek: Enterprise.

In addition, he lent his voice to the character Legolas in the 1979 radio adaptation of The Lord of the Rings. He was also the voice of Kenshiro in the 1986 film Fist of the North Star and Teknoman Dagger in Tekkaman Blade.
