Judge Gamble, also known as just Gamble, is a Marvel Comics character who debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the second season of Loki. She is a high-ranking TVA judge who ordered the practice of pruning to be discontinued.
Judge Gamble was created by Jo Duffy and Kerry Gammill.
Background[]
Judge Gamble previously had a happy life on the Sacred Timeline before she unknowingly created a nexus event and was captured by the Time Variance Authority and her timeline was destroyed. Instead of being pruned and sent to the Void like all other Variants, she was spared by He Who Remains, who erased her memories and gave her an undisclosed job. She eventually climbed the ranks to judge and became one of the highest-ranking employees of the TVA.
For a while, Judge Gamble and the rest of the TVA's employees knew He Who Remains was the organization's founder and ruler. However, sometime after the Multiversal War ended, He Who Remains decided to erase the memories of his employees again, and created the Time Keepers. After this, his employees were told they and the TVA were created by the Time Keepers, unaware of the fact that they were mindless androids controlled by He Who Remains.
Personality[]
Judge Gamble is loyal to the TVA and has its best interests in mind. She also has shown herself to be more open-minded than other TVA employees, as she was willing to stop one of the TVA’s core practices she had been using for eons.
Physical appearance[]
Gamble is an elderly woman of British descent who has arthrogryposis and requires a wheelchair to move around. She also wears typical TVA judge attire, which is a dark brown suit and an orange tie.

Loki[]
After Loki and Sylvie releasing the multiverse, the Time Keepers revealed to be androids, and Ravonna Renslayer disappearing, a meeting was called in the War Room concerning the unethical practice of pruning, which Judge Gamble attended. While General Dox insisted that the TVA keep pruning, as that was how she was trained, Gamble had a more open mind, listening to arguments for and against pruning. Dox said that not pruning the branches would cause the TVA’s destruction, while a hunter named B-15 argued that pruning branches caused the deaths of the civilians on the branches. After their arguments, Gamble sided with B-15 and felt remorse for all the people and branches she ordered to have pruned in the past and gave the order to stop pruning, effective immediately.
Judge Gamble later found out that General Dox had broken the TVA’s rules, as she ordered the pruning of multiple branched timelines. Gamble was uncertain what to do with Dox and her loyalists, as she no longer believed in the practice of pruning. Gamble then gave an order to B-15 to try to convince Dox and her loyalists to help protect the TVA and change their opinions on pruning.
Gamble, along with the rest of the TVA’s employees were killed after the Temporal Loom exploded, though after countless attempts to save the TVA, Loki found a solution by destroying the Loom altogether, which prevented the death of the TVA’s employees.
After this, Gamble attended another meeting in the War Room on the subject of tracking the Variants of He Who Remains.
