"Jumbo Mumbo" is the one hundred twenty-eighth episode of Doc McStuffins. It premiered on January 4, 2020 and is the ninth episode in the fifth season.
Doc tells her toys that Stuart will be bringing the biggest baby toy delivery ever seen. It then arrives and Stuart states that it will be returned to its new mom in the Toyarctic after its checkup. Doc sees only one baby whose name is Mumbo. When the box is opened, Mumbo is revealed to be a mammoth. He gets introduced to Doc and her toys, who decide to give him a checkup before he can go home in the Toyarctic. However, he is scared to come out, and Doc states that it's important to wait until he comes out. Meanwhile, Chilly's hat blows away in the wind, and he eventually catches it. When he is about to fall, Mumbo catches him. Chilly thanks him for that, and they form a special bond. When Mumbo falls off, Chilly and the others rescue him.
Mumbo then gets taken downstairs to the exam room for his checkup. Since he is big, he ducks down to avoid hitting the ceiling and walls. Lambie has an idea to push Mumbo to the exam room so that he doesn't hit anything, but he doesn't move until Stuffy sends him sliding down the hallway and into the exam room. Everyone forces him inside by nudging him gently. Hallie and Lambie reassure Mumbo that he will be healthy and happy for her delivery. Doc states that although Mumbo has never had a checkup before, he will be taken great care of. Since she is so big, the normal checkup routine needs to be changed. Stuffy returns with a ladder, and Doc listens to Mumbo's heart and it is revealed to be strong and healthy. Everything else is fine, but it takes everyone to measure Mumbo's height, making him the tallest patient ever. As for breathing, Mumbo blows everyone away.
He then seems nervous but Doc reminds Chilly that holding his trunk helps him calm down. Chilly does so again, and they really like each other. Hallie states that everyone likes Chilly because he's so perfectly him. Also, Mumbo is given a clean bill of health. Stuart arrives and states that Mumbo will not be delivered to the Toyarctic yet, as he is behind on deliveries. Doc and her toys will watch Mumbo during that time. They agree that Chilly and Mumbo are great friends, and Hallie states that new friends are just happy to be together. Chilly will watch Mumbo until Stuart comes back, and decides to take him to Reception.
Mumbo will sit quietly while Chilly gets some work done. However, Mumbo breaks stools due to how big he is. Chilly gets a call and Mumbo copies the same thing. Mumbo will help with filing, and she is doing a great job. He will continue the job while Chilly checks on a few things. However, Mumbo puts different things into the shelves, so they will not close. Chilly assumes that it wasn't a good idea. After Doc finishes checkup on another patient, Chilly tells her about what happened to Mumbo when he takes him away. Doc knows what's going on: Mumbo has a case of "hero-idol-osis". That means he wants to be like Chilly as he thinks he's pretty great.
Chilly then shows the mess in the shelves, and Doc assumes that the hospital isn't the best place for Mumbo. He then goes along with Doc to Baby Land, although he is sad that he has to leave Chilly behind. Chilly then finds his stapler. In Baby Land, Doc and her toys decide to make Mumbo feel at home. However, he inhales and blows out a bottle, so he drinks a mammoth-sized one. He then burps really loudly before seeing a baby. The toys decide to make him go to sleep, but he is still sad. Stuffy's idea for a pretend mammoth doesn't work, as well, and Mumbo knocks over toys. Doc reassures him that everything will be okay. Later, Mumbo makes a building of Chilly, as he misses him.
Doc then calls Chilly and asks him for help in Baby Land, as Mumbo isn't happy when he is not around. Chilly is unsure at first, but eventually decides to go along. When everyone arrives at Baby Land, Mumbo is delighted to see Chilly again. He then copies Chilly's moves, and they state they will be friends forever. Chilly then shows him more things he likes to do while singing about how they make a perfect match. Later, Mumbo goes to sleep and the babies cuddle him. Stuart then arrives and states that the deliveries are almost done. Doc states that Mumbo will be prepared in time.
Chilly wishes Mumbo wouldn't be leaving so soon, but Doc reminds him that Mumbo has to go, and Chilly decides to take a few minutes to say goodbye to him. Although he doesn't want to do it, Chilly apologizes as Mumbo will go to his new home in the Toyarctic. Mumbo follows Chilly and decides to stay with him. They then play with each other and later, the big basket is ready. Chilly and Mumbo are still playing and Doc and her toys are unable to find them. Chilly and Mumbo then head to the babies and Chilly introduces him to a baby with an elephant trunk. Chilly tells Mumbo that there are a lot of mammoth toys who all have trunks like him in the Toyarctic, especially his mom. Mumbo decides to return to the Toyarctic without Chilly after hearing statements that he will love it there and that's where he belongs.
Meanwhile, Doc and her toys have no luck finding Chilly and Mumbo when shaking occurs. Chilly and Mumbo arrive, and the former states that they wanted to play a little longer. Stuart arrives with some bad news: a fog is rolling in and all flights are grounded. As a result, Doc and her toys will have more time with Mumbo, but Chilly wonders about his family and the other mammoths in the Toyarctic. The fog will take days or weeks to clear. Chilly tells Mumbo that he belongs with his family in the Toyarctic.
To get him home today, Doc and her toys decide to ride Mumbo home by a boat. Stuart likes the idea, and everyone takes Mumbo home. Chilly thanks Mumbo for spending extra time with him. The boat soon arrives at the Toyarctic, and Chilly states that back in Baby Land, he didn't want to say goodbye. Doc tells him that just because a friend moves away doesn't mean he has to say goodbye forever, as they can call, write to, or visit each other. Chilly likes the idea, and finally says goodbye to Mumbo for now. Doc is proud of Chilly, and Mumbo soon returns to his family. During the goodbye, Mumbo takes Chilly's hat as a souvenir, although Chilly has another hat. Chilly is sad about it, but Lambie tells him that he did amazing. Doc tells him that it's okay to be sad when a friend moves away, as that's when he knows he really has something special. Chilly is still sad when he gets a call from Mumbo. Doc reveals she left a Toysponder with Mumbo so he and Chilly can check in whenever they miss each other. Chilly feels way better when he gets two more calls from Mumbo. Hallie and Stuffy conclude that it will go on the whole trip home.
