"Junk Junkie" is the second segment of the eighty-third episode of Big City Greens.
Synopsis[]
Desperate to ensure his family’s future security, Bill becomes a hoarder.
Plot[]
Cricket, Tilly, and Remy are playing in the front yard making a fort. As Bill and Gramma Alice look on, the former comments on how having a city farm and a country farm has most likely boosted their profits. He looks at his margins and declares that they are going broke, but when Alice looks at the chart, it is only a tiny shift downward and scolds him for it. Bill legitimately believes that this could snowball and becomes afraid of not being able to provide for his family. Russell comes to pick up Remy and reveals that he has boxes of things he is going to donate. Inspired, Bill asks if he could have some of the donations and Russell agrees, thus helping the family acquire "needs".
Alice gets a message from Gloria to see her at the cafe. In a hurry, she learns that Gloria just wanted to show Alice a new web series she is hooked on called Clutter Free with Serenity Spruce where the host teaches people how to clean their house. Alice scoffs at it, but soon begins to pick up on the habits presented by Serenity and starts to clean and remove useless things from her room. Meanwhile, Bill starts to collect more thrown away or donated items for Cricket and Tilly in an effort to keep them with provisions. The kids are at first happy, but suddenly begin to find Bill's hoarding intrusive with Gloria, who is starting to question her housing rights, also getting caught in the mess.
When Alice gets finished with decluttering her room, she is shocked to learn that Bill has made a mess of the house, which is now nearly falling apart. Alice tells Bill that his hoarding is a danger to them all and he realizes that Cricket and Tilly are trapped deep in the house. While Alice uses her new skills to declutter, Bill goes and rescues Cricket and Tilly from the deep depths just as the junk begins to fall and nearly destroy the house. Bill apologizes for going off the deep end again and the rest of the Greens forgive him. When Cricket demands something uplifting after that day, Gloria suddenly climbs out of the house with plungers, sending the family into laughter.
