Justin Jacob Long is an American actor, voice actor, director, and screenwriter. He is best known for his roles as Darius "Darry" Jenner in the 2001 horror film Jeepers Creepers, Justin Redman in the 2004 sports comedy film Dodgeball, Bartleby "B" Gaines in the 2006 comedy film Accepted, Wallace Bryton in the horror comedy film Tusk, and Dell in the romantic comedy-drama film Comet (both released in 2014). He is also well-known for voicing the titular character of the live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks film series, Lem Korplog in Planet 51, Humphrey in the 2010 Lionsgate animated film Alpha and Omega, and for being the current voice of Spyro in the Skylanders spin-off television series Skylanders Academy.
For Disney, he portrayed Kevin in the 2005 comedy film Herbie: Fully Loaded, Troop Leader Adam Devlin (uncredited) in Old Dogs, AJ Gilbride in the 2022 Fox horror film Barbarian, and Nathan Bratt in the Disney+/Hulu series Goosebumps. He is also the host of the Disney+ original series Shop Class, a contest involving designing, building, and testing new contraptions.
Long was born in Fairfield, Connecticut, the second of three boys, to R. James Long, a philosophy and Latin professor at Fairfield University, and Wendy Lesniak, a former stage actress. His grandmother was of Sicilian descent. Long notably had a "kind of conservative" Catholic upbringing. His older brother, Damian, is a local stage actor and teacher at Weston High School. Long attended Fairfield College Preparatory School, a Jesuit institution, and Vassar College, where he was a member of the sketch comedy group Laughingstock and starred in several Broadway plays, including Butterflies Are Free.
