Kai Banks is a supporting character of the Disney Channel series Hailey's On It! He is the father of Hailey Banks and always provides positive advice.

Personality[]
Kai is a laid back and very supportive husband and father. While he comes off as hokey and a typical embarrassing dad, he is full of wisdom and is always giving Hailey wise words to adhere to. He takes his culture very seriously and bases many of his life decisions off of his upbringing and background, such as giving Hailey her middle name based on an omen he received from a Strawberry Moon Owl.
Physical appearance[]
Kai is a large Polynesian man with brown skin and dark brown hair. He is usually seen wearing a reddish-orange button up shirt and blue shorts with brown sandals. He is well-built and has a noticeable Samoan tattoo on his arm. In his youth, he had longer hair.
History[]
At one point, Kai met and fell in love with a woman named Patricia and the two had a wedding on the beach, however she forgot to mail in their marriage papers so they were unaware they were not legally married. A few years later they had a daughter Hailey and, over a decade later, twin boys Dwayne and Johnson.
When his wife was overwhelmed with trying to sell the mansion of two local celebrities- the Swag Bros- for a reality show, he offers her a shrimp taco only for Frank, a flamingo his daughter has been hiding, eats it. After Frank calms down , he suggests they keep him but Patricia is against it and returns Frank to the shelter. However after Frank helps her stand up to the Swag Bros, she decides they can keep him. After Kai tries to comfort Patricia after they watch the episode. He fails but she perks up upon getting calls to sell more houses.
Kai and his daughter would always compete in a sand castle contest but never place as his preferred triple packing technique took to long to build a large structure. However one year his daughter entered a battle with her classmate A.C. Aychvak and all sandcastles except for his was destroyed.
After learning he and Patricia were not legally wed, they let their daughter plan a second wedding and he became obsessed with perfection. During a rainstorm, Kai and Patricia expressed their gratitude towards Hailey and thanked her for the second wedding.
When Kai felt his family was taking advantage of him, he spent the following day on strike after a conversation with Hailey. After his family realized how much he did for them, they apologized and agreed to show more gratitude towards him.

Kai greatly cares for his daughter. When ever Hailey was struggling with something, he would give her advice along with a proverb in Hawaiian.

Trivia[]
- In the pitch bible, Kai's name was Kyle.
- Kai is most likely inspired by Auli'i Cravalho's Moana co-star Dwayne Johnson, right down to having Polynesian body tattoos.
- In "2001: A Spouse Odyssey", it is revealed that not only did Kai and Patricia meet in 2001, they are also not legally married due to them accidentally forgetting to mail the marriage license. By the end of the episode, they hold another wedding, but Scott loses the letter in the attic, meaning they are still not legally married.
