Katherine Victoria Litwack, better known as Kat Dennings, is an American actress, who, for Disney, played Claire Carlyle in the 2002 Disney Channel Original Movie The Scream Team and Darcy Lewis in the Marvel films Thor and its sequel Thor: The Dark World, which she later reprised in WandaVision, What If...?, and Thor: Love and Thunder.
Dennings was born on June 13, 1986, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Penn Cottage, a historic house built in 1694 in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, which she claims was haunted. Beginning her career at age 9 by acting in commercials. She worked as an extra to earn her SAG card and was homeschooled. Her family moved to Los Angeles when she was 14 to help her pursue acting full time.
She made her professional debut with an appearance on HBO's Sex and the City and then starred on the short-lived WB sitcom Raising Dad. Her most notable role came in 2011 on the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls from 2011 to 2017 as Max Black. Her other television credits include Without a Trace, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, ER, American Dad!, Drunk History, Big Mouth, Dallas & Robo, and Dollface. She also appeared in films, such as Raise Your Voice, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Big Momma's House 2, Charlie Bartlett, The House Bunny, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Daydream Nation, Defendor, and Suburban Gothic.
