Katarina Kodorofsky is a character from Mickey Mouse comics created by writer Byron Erickson. She is a Russian spy who has worked with Mickey a few times.
Background[]
Personality[]
Katarina is very short tempered and slightly arrogant, despite that she means well and is extremly determined to not let the any gangs around the world form or be left unpunished for their crimes, despite her short temper and emotions sometimes overtaking her she can get them as well as her pride under control as seen in "catch as cat can" where she goes to mickey for help after realizing she cant finish a mission alone and "needs his puny little body" to finish it, at first shes rather rude and mocking but calms herself down when its time to ask the mouse for help, she's highly experienced in her profession and initially sees herself as above working with amateurs like Mickey making her struggle when it was time to ask for even slightest help. She generally warms up to mickey over the two stories, at the end of "claws of the cat" she's not anywhere being friendly but gains some respect for him, while in "catch as cat can" the two start to form a rocky friendship, katarina insists she's above mickey as a proffesional yet through the story its clear thats not the honest case.
in "catch as cat can" we find out she is a claustrophobic after a corrupt professor put her in a tomb and is overtaken by fear as well as confirming thats why she needes mickeys help, later in the story the two need to squeeze through a tight tunel in the ground and she struggles the whole time, but thanks to mickey's pep talk to make her angry enough she menages after witch for the first time she stops calling him "mouse" and starts calling him by his name.
Appearances[]
Katarina first appeared in Claws of the Cat, assigned to destroy a jade statue of a cat that was at the root of a Chinese gang war started by a criminal named Hang Tung. But she couldn't bear to destroy such a beautiful piece of art and hid it within the collection of billionaire Shaun Funning. However, when the net bubble burst and ruined Shaun's fortune, he was forced to auction off much of his collection to reclaim some riches, including the jade statue, which Katarina knew would bring out the mobsters. Growing suspicious at the auction, Mickey waited into the night to catch Katarina when she was sneaking in, but ended up ruining her attempt to destroy the statue, with it falling into the hands of Hang Tung's men. The two pursue the mobsters to the docks and retrieve the statue, but instead of destroying it, Katarina allows Mickey to give it to Minnie, who wanted the statue to go with her collection of glass hedgehogs.
Katarina makes a return appearance in Catch as Cat Can where she is going after a corrupt Egyptologist stealing antiquities from museums around the globe.
