Kathy is a minor character and a student from the Disney animated TV series, Goof Troop.
Background[]
Kathy has a rare, prominent role in one episode. She is a classmate of Max and one of the female students fond of Goofy when he attends Max's school. She partakes in a spelling bee.
Personality[]
Kathy appears to be the nerdy type. She is nice, impressionable, and she seems to be a romantic, particularly when it comes to Goofy who catches her eyes. She tends to be eager, impetuous, and spontaneous. She also seems to be bookish, as she is shown in "Axed by Addition" carrying a book in her hands, looking in it.
Physical appearance[]
Kathy is a svelte, anthropomorphic cat with small, pointed ears on her head. She has honey blonde hair worn in pigtails with a neon pink hair bow on each of them and arched bangs. She wears round glasses. The color of her outfit varies from episode to episode. She wore two in "Educating Goofy". The first is a shin-length, wide, carnation pink swing dress with short sleeves, a white lapel for the buttoned collar, matching waistband, and neon pink ballet flats. Her other outfit consists of a green sweater with a white stripe on the upper part of each sleeve, a white mini dress with folded button collar and pleated skirt (which might be a tennis outfit), green socks, and light gray slip-ons with a couple pink, perpendicular stripes each. Kathy wears either a swing dress or swing dress jumper in her other appearances, but they're in other colors. In "Axed by Addition", she wears a pale green blouse with light indigo, wide swing skirt. And in "Queasy Rider", she wears wide, cornflower blue, swing dress jumper with white blouse.
Role in the series[]
Kathy's only featured role was in "Educating Goofy". In this, she's seen in the school's hallway with other students as Goofy arrives and in the classroom. She is also shown with her class on a field trip in a museum. Then, she, Millie, and another girl watch, and admire Goofy as he passes by them. In the auditorium, Kathy announces to everyone else that Goofy has been appointed class president. When Max happens upon Kathy and Millie, Millie comments to Max that his dad is cool. Kathy agrees with, "Yeah, totally! Hyuck!". Surprised at what he just heard, he asks what she said. Millie tells him it's the new catchphrase, which they picked up from him before they leave. At the spelling bee, Kathy gets ahead of herself by spelling the word, "Sedan". The spelling bee judge tells her she's correct, but mentions it wasn't her turn as she presumptuously thought. Because of this, she's eliminated. Realizing her error and humiliated, she dashes off the stage, and leaves.
In other episodes, she is more of a background character. In "Axed by Addition", she holds a book, looking in it at a bus stop. And in "Queasy Rider", she is in the video arcade with several other kids, watching Carlos win a racing game as she's smitten with him.
Trivia[]
- Kathy has a few things in common with another character Nancy Cartwright voiced, which is Karen Winsborrow from the ABC Weekend Special's and Hanna-Barbera's "The Bunjee Venture" and "Return of the Bunjee". Both are nerdy, slender, wear glasses, their names begin with the letter "K", and share the same voice as each other.
Goofs[]
- In "Educating Goofy", the outfit she wears is inconsistent as it keeps switching back-and-forth from her mostly carnation pink swing dress to her green sweater and white minidress a few times, both in class and at the museum.
