Kenji Kawakami is the co-protagonist of the 2025 Hulu film Predator: Killer of Killers. He is a Japanese ninja looking to take revenge on his brother for betraying him.

Personality[]
Kenji was once a very bright eyed and optimistic youth who shared his love of life with his twin brother Kiyoshi. This was shattered, when Kiyoshi betrayed him to take over his father's empire. Since then, Kenji grew up into a cold and stern person of morally dubious character. He did grow to be somewhat wiser and more reserved, but has no qualms about killing. He ultimately did show that he still cared about his brother as he seemed more focused on giving him a scar similar to his, rather than outright killing him. He comforted his brother in his final moments, wanting to part with him on good terms.
Physical appearance[]
Kenji is a man of Japanese descent, of average height, has a beard, and a noticeable scar on his cheek. He is mostly seen adorned in typical black ninja attire, though he is later given ragged prison clothing when he is taken to the Predators' home planet. He later loses one of his arms.
Abilities and weapons[]
Kenji is a master of ninjutsu as well as the art of swordplay. He possesses numerous ninja weapons such as a chain, sickle, throwing daggers, and red smoke pellets. He is also owns his father's samurai sword.
Trivia[]
- Louis Ozawa previously played Hanzo Kawakami in Predators. During one particular scene, he comes across a samurai sword that he instinctually takes and uses against one of the Predators. The filmmakers established that the sword belonged to his ancestor who fought a Predator in the past. The characters of Kenji and Kiyoshi are implied to be those ancestors.
- The fact that Kenji and Kiyoshi barely speak, is also a nod to Hanzo, who also barely spoke.
