"Kenny's Falling Star" is the second segment of the thirty-fourth episode of the Disney Channel animated series The Ghost and Molly McGee.

Synopsis[]

When Kenny Star escapes to Brighton, Molly helps him reconnect to his country roots.

Plot[]

Country singer Kenny Star has been outed as a not ordinary person who has lost touch with his hometown roots and is now seen as a self-obsessed rich celebrity. With his fans calling him a sellout, Hollywood reporters like Calvin Redtop making fun of him, and even his pet giant eagle Stripes leaving him over his fall from grace, Kenny escapes out of the public eye as Norm L. Man in Brighton where he encounters Molly who was relaying her feelings about Kenny's situation with Scratch. Kenny explains that he is tired of the paparazzi chasing him and wants to be left alone. Molly decides to help him by letting him stay at her house, after briefly checking in on a vermin infested motel, as Sharon now tries to get Kenny to listen to her music while Darryl and Scratch try to get rich by selling his items (as Scratch stated that celebrity used items are worth a lot once their career ends).

Kenny has trouble getting out of the rich and famous lifestyle, such as assuming that Pete will cook him a really lavish dish instead of a simple breakfast, and Molly makes it her goal to recondition him to small town values. This apparently works with Kenny falling in love with being a regular person again and not worrying about his celebrity life. As Kenny is finally able to warm up to the people of Brighton, Calvin Redtop is revealed to have been the one buying Darryl and Scratch's items and traces Kenny to Brighton. Kenny is afraid over the paparazzi finding him again, but Molly coerces him into putting on a show for the people of Brighton.

At the bandshell, Kenny comes out to perform for an indifferent crowd. He admits that he has lost his way by being a big celebrity, but that he has figured himself out and wants to change. He begins to sing a song (with Sharron playing her triangle in the background) that wins the crowd over, including Calvin who now supports the singer, as Molly congratulates him on finding himself. Kenny is visited by Stripes, Kenny decides to resume a simple life with him again as he flies off into the night with him. As Molly smiles over accomplishment, Scratch points out that Kenny riding an eagle is not normal, making the situation ironic.
