Synopsis[]
The Day of Unity begins.
Plot[]
The Day of Unity is about to begin. All Coven witches are gathered for the event, unaware they they about to have their magic drained by a draining spell. The Coven heads are all gathered with Emperor Belos, except for Raine, who has Eda taking their place. As the eclipse draws near, Belos casts the draining spell before teleporting himself back to the head of the Titan, where the Portal realm is. He changes out of his Emperor clothes and prepares to leave. He also goes back on his word of releasing the Collector, and was only using them to accomplish his plans. Kikimora shows up with presumably Hunter, hoping her efforts would be rewarded by becoming Belos' right hand man. Unfortunately, Belos stabs Kikimora in the back and kicks her out before throwing the Collector off a bridge. Then he confronts Hunter, who he knows is actually Luz, and the two engage in a magic duel.
The Eclipse draws nearer, and soon Eda's curse begins to disrupt the draining spell. However, Eda's cover is exposed by the other Coven heads. Raine is captured and force to resume their place just seconds before the eclipse is in full. The draining spell is activated, and everyone present has their magic drained, including the coven heads. All the witches, including the Coven scouts try to flee, but the Abomatons have sealed off all the exits.
Luz attacks Belos with everything she has, but he is too powerful, and is eventually captured by his grasp. Belos offers to let Luz return home with him peacefully, but Luz refuses to leave everyone to die. So, Belos proceeds to petrify her to stone. However, Luz quickly tries to negotiate with Belos. She explains to him that humanity has changed a lot over the years (humanity don't fear magic and witches anymore as they did centuries ago), and everything he represents will mean nothing to anybody.
And if he goes around telling people about demon realm they will just think he is crazy. Luz offers to be his guide in the modern world if he stops the draining spell. Just when she is about to be fully petrified, Belos spares her. But knowing Belos will not keep his word since he is a trickster, Luz tricks him into giving him a coven sigil, and he soon becomes infected by his own spell. She hopes this will force him to stop the spell. But instead Belos turns into a wild monsters made from all the palismen he had eaten, and attacks Luz.
Just then, King, Willow, Amity, Gus, and Hunter, arrive to help her battle Belos. During the fight, King finds Kikimora, who is also being drained by the spell. She reveals that Belos cannot stop the draining spell, and the only one who can is the Collector. Wanting to get back at Belos, Kikimora agrees to take King to the Collector. The Collector agrees to help undo the draining spell if he released them and promises to play games with them soon after. King agrees without hesitation.
He releases the Collector from their imprisonment just in time to save Luz and her friends and seemingly kills Belos. As promised, the Collector undoes the draining spell. But then the Collector turns to King and the kids, reminding they promised to play. The Collector unleashes their ultimate powers, causing the whole place to collapse. Knowing that the Collector is too powerful to be stopped, their only escape is the portal.
They can't save everyone so they are forced to leave them behind and make a run for it, Hunter stops to see at Belos before continuing to run but a drop of Belos lands in the back of Hunter. Luz refuses to leave Eda and King behind, King is reminded by the Collector that he promised to play "Owl House" as part of the deal of stopping Belos's plan, so King sacrifices himself by using his sonic shout to push her and her friends through the portal before the whole place comes toppling down on them. Luz, Amity, Willow, Gus, and Hunter find themselves outside the abandoned house where Luz first found her way to the Demon Realm. Luz tries to goes back through the portal, but it closes before she can reach it. The kids are left in the rain, battered, traumatized, and stranded in the Human Realm. Having no other option, they head to Luz's house, where Luz finally reunites with her mother.
During the end credits, the piece of Belos that fell on Hunter closes the door of the old house that once linked both realms.

Trivia[]
- This is the last full episode of The Owl House, since Season Three consisted only of three hour-long specials.
- This is the third episode after "Agony of a Witch" and "Clouds on the Horizon" to not have the usual credits. It features a shot of the open front door from the old abandoned house as rain pours outside. But something is dripping which makes the door close.
- Hunter looks at Belos before continuing to escape, but a piece of him drops on Hunter's back. Meaning that Belos has managed to escape to the Human Realm with them.
- This is the first episode to feature a silent intro.
- It is revealed what Belos wants with Luz is that he wants to help her return back home with him.
- Luz brands Belos with the sigil for the Emperor's Coven in an attempt to get him to stop the draining spell. However, this backfires and turns him into his monster form.
- It is revealed that Belos promised the Coven Heads they would become royalty in his "new world", with only Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf seeing through it.
- However, they and everyone else on the Boiling Isles soon learn of his true intentions when the draining spell has begun.
- It is revealed that the engraving King etched into his collar was to keep him invisible to the Collector's eyes.
- In order to stop the draining spell, King releases the Collector from his prison in exchange for playing with him.
- When Belos sees Flapjack with Hunter, he angrily says the name "Caleb". This could possibly be the name of the human that is seen with him in his memories. This could also indicate that Flapjack used to belong to a Caleb.
- Since Philip and the person are the brothers who went missing in the 1600s, the brother's full name is Caleb Wittebane.
- This might explain why Hunter used the name "Caleb" when he infiltrated on Hexside in "Any Sport in a Storm".
- The Day of Unity is stopped, but it ends with the Collector taking control of the Demon Realm.
- Due to it being impossible for them to defeat a too-powerful being like the Collector, Luz and her friends are forced to escape to the Human Realm and leaving everyone else, including Eda and King, behind.
- Luz receives a scar on her face like Hunter, on her left eyebrow.
- Camilla and Vee return in this episode.
- Dana Terrace stated that the episode was initially planned to have a licensed song, similar to the Amphibia episode "Reunion" when it used "Lean on Me". However, despite the song being "cheaper" to use, Disney Television Animation opted to not use it.
- The hidden code translates "Lies".
- Amity's nickname, "Mittens," was given to her by Alador because, when she was a child, he made her abomination "mittens".
Allusions[]
- On Camila's tablet, she is reading an article that reads Girl Lost in Frog Land?? HOAX?? while showing an image of Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia; revealing that both shows exist in the same universe.
- This apparently returns the favor from when the Owl House made a cameo as an alternate universe in the Amphibia episode "If You Give a Frog a Cookie".
- Coincidentally, the ending of the finale shares quite similarities to the season two finale of Amphibia, "True Colors", where the heroine ends up back in her own world along with her friends after the huge showdown.
- The scene where Luz repeatedly opens and closes the shack's door is similar to James P. Sullivan opening and closing the banishment door after he and Mike Wazowski were sent to the Himalayas in Monsters, Inc.
