Kiume is a character from the Disney's Animal Kingdom attraction, Festival of the Lion King.
Background[]
Kiume is one of the four emcees who is part of a traveling theater troupe along with the other emcees, Zawadi, Kibibi, and Nakawa. Throughout the show, he would sing in a baritone/bass voice. He and the other emcees became affiliated with Simba throughout the show called "Festival of the Lion King".
Development[]
The Festival of the Lion King attraction opened at the former Camp Minnie-Mickey area in 1998 featuring Kiume and the other performers. Over the years, the show became successful for many years before Camp Mickey-Minnie closed down in 2014 to make way for Pandora: The World of Avatar, which later opened in 2017, resulting the show to be moved to Harambe Theater in Africa, still featuring Kiume and the other emcees performing within the facility.

Kiume is one of the four emcees who hosts the show, often leading the audience in the elephant section, next to an elephant. In addition to hosting the show, he would often perform on stage in his own solo number singing the musical number "Be Prepared".
Harambe Market[]
Flyers featured in the Harambe Market depict flyers for the Festival of the Lion King featuring an illustration of Kiume.
Trivia[]
- "Kiume" means "masculine and strong" in Swahili.
- Although Scar (who appeared in the original film) himself does not appear in Festival of the Lion King, Kiume takes over his role while singing "Be Prepared", which also featured Scar in this song.
