Appearances[]
The Santa Clauses[]
Krampus's spirit took off and entered the Yule-verse, an in-between dimension for all things Christmas. He along with all the prior Santas decided that for the first time a human shall don the red suit. Krampus and the other Santas planned Santa 17’s "death" by slipping and falling off the roof of Scott Calvin's house, having chosen him specifically after seeing his kindly spirit as a child. Krampus met Scott years later, in an attempt to convince him to return to the role of Santa.
Trivia[]
- The Krampus is of Eastern Alpine origin. In the initial folklore, Krampus would visit houses along with St. Nicholas on December 6. While St. Nicholas gave away fruit and chocolate, Krampus would beat children who misbehaved with a switch. He has his own day the night before called Krampusnacht (Krampus Night) and was sometimes depicted carrying children away in a basket or sack to a more unfortunate fate. While the tradition of Krampus has mostly been of European culture, the character has slowly been adapted in other parts of the world as well.
