Lampwick is a supporting character in the 2022 live-action remake of Pinocchio.
Background[]
In this film, Lampwick is the one who drags Pinocchio onto the ride to Pleasure Island when Pinocchio was on the crossroads trying to get home to Geppetto after escaping from Stromboli. Compared to his animated counterpart, this Lampwick is a bit meaner to Pinocchio, as he constantly mocks Pinocchio for having a conscience.
Role in the film[]
As Pinocchio is captured and placed onto the Coachman's carriage, Lampwick encounters Pinocchio and makes fun of him for being a puppet as Lampwick tells him that he and the other children are being brought to Pleasure Island, the place where children are free from law doing everything they want to which as the Coachman briefly stops his wagon, Lampwick participates during the musical number "The Coachman to Pleasure Island" with the other children where Pinocchio feels unsure about this at first which Pinocchio decides to go to Pleasure Island with the children, just as he takes Pinocchio and Lampwick there.
As Lampwick and Pinocchio arrive at Pleasure Island, the Coachman greets the children who arrive in this place. Lampwick then shows Pinocchio of the things what the naughty children are doing, just as Pinocchio denies, telling him that he might upset Geppetto if he were there. After a trip around Pleasure Island, Lampwick enters a bar playing billiards where he talks with Pinocchio who replies to him where the children are at which the two are unaware that the children are being turned into donkeys. However, Lampwick tells him why he never smashed any of the clocks they saw earlier at Pleasure Island, which Pinocchio replies that he wants to be a good boy, not a naughty boy. Just as Jiminy enters the bar, he attempts to warn Pinocchio about the dangers of Pleasure Island, only for Lampwick to knock him down a grate leading him to the area of children who were turned into donkeys are being sold by the Coachman to the salt mine. Just like his animated version, he is transformed into a donkey but when the Coachman comes to collect Pinocchio, the donkey Lampwick, in his hysterical frenzy, kicks a pool table, which stalls him to buy Pinocchio enough time to escape with Jiminy.
It is unknown what happened to him after that, though it is likely that he is later captured and sold by the Coachman.
