James Lance Bass is an American singer, dancer, actor, voice actor, and film and television producer. For Disney, he lent his voice to several animated shows, such as Kim Possible, Gravity Falls, Higglytown Heroes, and Handy Manny. He also voiced Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts.
Bass was born in Laurel, Mississippi, Bass attended space camp in Titusville, Florida, and aspired to attend college and study engineering. Later, when Bass was 11 years old, his family moved to Clinton, Mississippi. Bass began singing in his Baptist church choir, and was encouraged to audition for local performance groups. During his junior year of high school, his mother was contacted by Justin Timberlake to see if Bass would be interested in joining NSYNC. The two shared the same vocal coach and the latter recommended Bass as a replacement when their original bass singer left the group.
Following the group's disbandment, Bass focus on acting in films, like Longshot, On The Line, Zoolander, Love Wrecked, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and Tropic Thunder. His television credits include 7th Heaven, BoJack Horseman, Hand of God, Insatiable, and was the host of the reality dating show Finding Prince Charming. He also appeared as a contestant on the seventh season of Dancing With the Stars, partnering with Lacey Schwimmer finishing in third place.
