Larry King was an American actor, voice actor, comedian, and television and radio host, best known for hosting his self-titled CNN talk show Larry King Live from 1985 until his retirement in 2010. He also voiced Doris in the DreamWorks Shrek franchise.
For Disney, he guest-starred in Muppets Tonight and Take Two with Phineas and Ferb. He also voiced Wax Larry King, a wax figure version of himself in the Gravity Falls episode "Headhunters". He reprised the role in the series finale episode "Weirdmageddon Part 3: Take Back the Falls". King Louie's twin brother, King Larry from the House of Mouse episode "King Larry Swings In", was likely named after him, only with a name switch in this case. Additionally, he appeared in The Kid, Enemy of the State, An Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn, and Swing Vote.
On January 2, 2021, it was revealed that King had been hospitalized ten days earlier in a Los Angeles hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. On January 23, he died at the age of 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles. King's wife, Shawn, told Entertainment Tonight that he had recovered from COVID-19, but he died of sepsis as a complication.
