Laura Dawn Bailey is an American screen and voice actress and voice director, who is best known for her extensive voice work in various anime and video games, including Maka Albarn in Soul Eater, Kid Trunks in Dragon Ball Z, Tohru Honda in the U.S. dub of Fruits Basket, Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist, Shinnosuke "Shin" Nohara in Crayon Shin-Chan, Emily/Glitter Lucky in Glitter Force, Princess Lucina in Nintendo's Fire Emblem Awakening, Jaina Proudmoore in World of Warcraft, and Chun-Li in Capcom's Street Fighter video game series from Street Fighter IV onward. She is also well-known for being the new voice of Princess Odette in The Swan Princess Christmas and The Swan Princess: A Royal Family Tale, as well as Blaze the Cat and Omochao in Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise (20102019). Additionally, she is known for voicing Vex'ahlia and Jester Lavorre in the Dungeons & Dragons web series Critical Role, and Mary Jane Watson in the 2018 Spider-Man video game.

For Disney, she is best known for voicing Black Widow in various Marvel cartoons and video games since Avengers Assemble. She also voiced Tigerlily in the English dub version of Stitch! and Spider-Gwen and Crimson Dynamo in Spider-Man.[1]

Bailey was born in Mississippi. She has an older sister named Jenny. Her father was in the Air Force, causing the family to move around frequently. They lived in Oklahoma before moving to San Antonio, Texas, and then moved throughout North Texas, all before Bailey was six years old. They eventually settled in Allen, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. She had a passing interest in acting and performed in school plays, but was planning to become a biologist. She did not realize she could make a career out of acting until she watched a Dawson's Creek behind-the-scenes special, in which Katie Holmes was interviewed. She attended the theatre program at Collin County Community College in Plano, Texas, where she participated in Broadway production plays.
