Laurie is a character in the Disney•Pixar animated series Win or Lose. She is a 12-year old batter for The Pickles who suffers from anxiety about her pitching prowess, manifested by an imaginary sweat blob that hangs around on her body. She is the youngest daughter of Coach Dan and is the main protagonist of "Coach's Kid".

Physical appearance[]
Laurie is a Caucasian middle school-aged girl with rosy cheeks and freckles. She has blonde hair which she wears loose with a half ponytail and straight bangs, as well as eyebrows and has red eyes. She is physically modeled after co-writer and co-director Carrie Hobson. As shown in "I Got It", her bangs used to be so long they would cover her eyes and most of her face, until she cut them while at a slumber party with Rochelle, Taylor, Luciana, and Kai. When she gets hit by a softball, Laurie is swollen in her right eye.
Personality[]
Laurie is constantly nervous about anything and everything. Her coping mechanism is visualizing a gray, blob-like imaginary friend who tells her how to deal with her embarrassment, which doesn't go in her favor. Laurie is also openly Christian, as she prays whenever she gets the chance to, and has a cardboard angel in her bedroom, and constantly makes the sign of the cross.
She is also shown to have an ability where once Sweaty becomes big enough to overtake her, she can fuse with Sweaty and speak through the latter's body. However, this is only through her perspective.
Role in the series[]
"Coach's Kid"[]
Laurie is first seen during the series' prologue where she's lying bruised on the ground of the softball field as if she'd been hit in the face. Going back one week earlier, she is praying to make a hit or catch the ball, but Laurie always fails poorly. When Laurie tries to make the final catch, she tumbles over, but luckily, Kai catches the ball before it hit her thus The Pickles team wins and is off to compete in the Little League championship. In spite of that, Laurie feels nervous to the point of insanity and unlike the rest of The Pickles, Laurie has no golden star stickers on her helmet, plus Laurie hopes that she could someday make her father proud. Yuwen comes up to her and shows her a video of Laurie which he posted online. Rochelle comes to her defense and angrily asks him why he posted that and makes Laurie think Yuwen likes her, only for Yuwen himself to say he doesn't like Laurie but rather Taylor. Laurie, her sister, Paula, and their father, Dan, are driving home while Dan is giving Paula tips on how to operate his car but she protests saying she has a learner's permit, Laurie asks if maybe they might do something together and suggests that she stays with him at his place for the weekend.
Later, when Laurie returns home to her mother's house, Laurie excitedly tells Carole that her team won and are going to the championship, Laurie then asks her mom if she'll be coming. Unfortunately, Carole replies by saying she won't since softball's not really her thing. Laurie hears the doorbell ring and goes to answer only to find out it's just Sweaty who lets itself indoors. In bed, Laurie lies awake as she prays to do her best.
The next day at school, both Laurie and Rochelle talk about training extra hard, although Rochelle thinks Laurie is overlooking everything. Furthermore, after school, Laurie heads off to the diamond where she worked herself hard day after day. Then one night, Laurie is texting her dad when Kai showed and ask if she wanted to get in a bit of practice. They agreed and Kai is throwing softballs while Laurie bats, until she accidentally knocks one back too fast and the hall hits Kai in the face. Coach Dan rushes to her aid as for Laurie where Coach Dan supposedly says "Laurie, what did you do!?" before he takes Kai away, Laurie feels at fault. That night in bed, Laurie begs for forgiveness with Sweaty leaning on top of her.
On the night of the championship game, Laurie is nervously questioning where her friend Rochelle is and starts eating a bag of sunflower seeds. Laurie is called to base where she likewise gets two strikes when her dad orders a time out and after having a talk, Laurie suddenly feels courageous for she knows exactly what has to be done as the team cheers her on, she takes position as the softball comes over towards Laurie. However, instead of her hitting the ball, she allows herself to take the hit as the softball strikes Laurie down to the audience's dismay.
"Blue"[]
She appears briefly three times; while during the final game against The Snotters, she is then seen sitting with the rest of The Pickles and is last seen at the Little League championship near the end, where she gets knocked out by a softball as Mr. Brown yelled "Safe!".
"Raspberry"[]
Laurie is seen running on the diamond where she trips and Coach Dan picks her up. She sits with Rochelle while Dan praises the Pickles and later when Yuwen shows her the video. On the following day at school, Laurie and Rochelle are walking together in the hallway where she showed Rochelle the cute video that her mother posted before rushing off. When Rochelle is on the bus heading to a party, she notices Laurie practising on the softball diamond.

- As shown in "Coach's Kid", Laurie has noble braces, which she wears on her teeth for sleep.
- In the episode "I Got It", it is revealed that Laurie's hair was once so long, it covered most of her face, it went down to her eyes, much like her sister Paula.
- In her bedroom, she has a poster of Odicci Alexander, a revered softball hero.
- It is never made clear if whether or not she did quit softball, as she told her father that she was considering so at the end of the series finale, "Home".
