Laurence George "Laurie" Main was an Australian actor and voice actor, who had contributed to Disney a as narrator for the Winnie the Pooh franchise.
Born in Melbourne, Main moved to the UK at the age of 16, making his acting debut in The Yellow Balloon. He emigrated to the United States in 1960 where he would appear in shows, like Wagon Train, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Maverick, I Spy, The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., Get Smart, The Andy Griffith Show, The Monkees, Hogan's Heroes, The Ghost & Mrs. Muir, Daniel Boone, Family Affair, Bewitched, The Partridge Family, Land of the Lost, Little House on the Prairie, Punky Brewster, and Murder, She Wrote.
His film credits included The Three Stooges Go Around the World in a Daze, Darling Lili, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, My Fair Lady, Rover Dangerfield, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and The Thief and the Cobbler.

Main began his career at Disney in live action films, such as playing the role of Mr. Mills in Freaky Friday, Duval in Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, and Mr. Reedy in The Strongest Man in the World. He would later become the narrator for the Winnie the Pooh shorts: Winnie the Pooh Discovers the Seasons and Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore before hosting and narrating Welcome to Pooh Corner. He returned to the narrator role in 2003 for the video game Piglet's Big Game.
He also voiced John Watson in The Great Mouse Detective, Bagheera in a read along version of The Jungle Book, and Lattimer Bowser III in Dumbo's Circus.
