The Leader (real name Samuel Sterns) is a Marvel Comics character who appears as a supporting character in The Incredible Hulk, and the main antagonist in Captain America: Brave New World. He is a massive-headed Gamma supervillain and one of the Hulk's archenemies.
The Leader was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
Personality[]
The Leader, also known as Samuel Sterns, is a Gamma villain from the Marvel Universe. Where Bruce Banner was given immense amount of strength, Samuel Sterns gained immense amount of knowledge. Because of his mutation, he has a superiority complex, believing himself to be the only perfect being capable of leading. His main goal is world order led by him, hence his name the Leader. In a fight he is not that strong, but can outsmart Hulk. He can also create gadgets and inventions to wreak havoc over the people of the world or against enemies.

The Incredible Hulk[]
In this film, Dr. Samuel Sterns is a university professor trying to help Bruce Banner to find a cure for his transformations, while operating under the alias of "Mr. Blue". After turning Emil Blonsky into the Abomination, some of Hulk's blood drips into an open head wound causing his cranium to rapidly expand as he grins maniacally.
Captain America: Brave New World[]
In 2027, Samuel Sterns finds a way to ruin president Thaddeus Ross' legacy as payback for Ross throwing Sterns in prison years before by manipulating the president into swallowing pills that he created with gamma radiation. Captain America and Falcon try to locate the man who is threatening Ross' life. While Sam, Isaiah Bradley and Joaquin Torres are invited to the White House, Sterns, hiding in the shadows, uses Bradley's phone to trick him into attempting to shoot Ross, but fails and he is arrested while Sterns stays back. Sam and Joaquin later locate Sterns in an underground lab, revealing he has drastically changed throughout the years. Speaking to Ross through his headpiece, Sterns tries to get the president to turn into a Hulk to ruin his legacy as revenge. However, Sam locates Sterns outside the White House as the president is about to do a speech. Sterns turns himself in, but Ross still turns into Red Hulk due to his anger getting too much for him.
