"Leather Jacket Hailey" is the first segment of the fourteenth episode of the Disney Channel animated series Hailey's On It!
Synopsis[]
Hailey finds a leather jacket that brings out her rebellious side.
Plot[]
Hailey is in the process of creating a diorama for her science class, but her lab partner Tina has bailed on her to take care of her sick grandmother. Beta asks that Hailey crochet a pillow for him, only to realize that it was not a list item, has to help her mother with the filters on her phone during an intense phone meeting, and her father eats the snack she prepared herself. To make matters more hectic, Scott arrives to tell Hailey that Kristine is coming back into town and she wants Hailey, her "bestie", to help with an upcoming fashion show on the television series Hat House. Hailey is forced to deal with Kristine's tasks and becomes annoyed at being taken for granted.
Hailey is told to try on a leather jacket which upon donning, suddenly causes a change in her. Hailey becomes dominant, disinterested, and cooler to the people around her. She starts giving off weird vibes to everyone, including Scott who comically thinks he is being mugged, and encounters Tina, who is out shopping with her grandmother, and forces her to finish their school work. Hailey tells Beta (who was impressed by her new attitude) that she likes her new persona and refuses to take off the jacket, even blowing off her parents when they come in with their same problems. Hailey is told to return the jacket, but she refuses and even tells off Kristine when she asks for it back.
To Hailey's surprise, Chainsaw and the rest of the stage people tell her that they were inspired by her attitude and planted a bomb in one of the hats for the talent show. Hailey runs out onto the stage and uses the jacket to cover the hat where it safely explodes. Hailey gives a speech about how being rude as a coping mechanism is wrong and that they should just be open about themselves. At this point, Scott reveals that he wants to be a model, a tactic that ends up sending Kristine to the finals, though shortly afterwards Scott moves onto something else. Tina arrives with the project, having finished it for Hailey, but when Hailey sees that she simply threw glitter on the whole thing, she angrily chases after her.

- Starting with the airing of this episode, a slightly shortened version of the intro is used.
- Scott has supposedly moved on from Kristine.
- When Patricia has trouble with the filters on her phone, she declares, "I am not a pig!", "I am not a donkey!", etc. This a reference to a real world viral incident where lawyer Rod Ponton accidentally turned on a cat filter during a zoom call and declared "I am not a cat!"
- When Hailey wears the jacket, combined with the hat, she bares a slight resemblance to Jotaro Kujo from the manga/anime series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
- Starting from this episode Eric Bauza voices Paul because the original voice actor Billy Kametz passed away in the middle of production for the first season.
