Leona Kingscholar is a prideful, arrogant, yet lazy individual who would rather sleep through the day than do any studying. Because of these attributes, he has been held back a year and gives the impression of being completely useless. However, Leona is actually a crafty, clever, and even competitive individual who, when necessary, reveals a very ferociously active and even sometimes violent attitude. While intelligent, he does seem oblivious to his friends helping him, believing that his things get fixed magically. He believes in a fair fight and does have significant leaderlike abilities, fitting for a king.
Physical appearance[]
Leona Kingscholar is a 20-year-old Beastman with light brown skin, green eyes, long blackish-brown hair, and lion ears and a tail. He has a tribal tattoo on his arm and usually wears an African inspired yellow tank top, a sleeveless black leather jacket, black leather gloves, grey pants with black leather chaps, black boots with yellow accents, and colored bead and feathered necklaces and bracelets. He also keeps what looks like an animal pelt, hanging from his belt.
His usual student attire is an unbuttoned white dress shirt, a yellow vest, black dress pants, and sandals. He also has a noticeable scar over his eye.
Powers and abilities[]
Leona Kingscholar , like the other students at Night Raven College, possesses magical abilities along with a "signature spell":
Martial arts: Leona is an expert in hand-to-hand combat.
Defense spells: Leona has a significant amount of defense magic, which apparently he has a large reserve of.
The King's Roar: Leona can turn anything he touches into sand. It's difficult to control as he can apparently use it on people.
Trivia[]
Leona Kingscholar is voiced by Yuichiro Umehara in the original Japanese version. He is also the Japanese dub voice for Monroe in Shake It Up, Marc Andreessen in Valley of the Boom, and Luka Couffaine in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.
His name, "Leona", is take from Leo which means "lion", though Leona is Spanish for "lioness". His last name is simply a combination of the words "king" and "scholar", which match his intelligence and royal lineage.
He's apparently a feminist as he has a strong respect for women. This is primarily due to the fact that female lions do most of the hunting while male lions "rule" everything else.
