"Let's Play Turnipball!" is the second segment of the thirty-first episode of the Disney Channel animated series, The Ghost and Molly McGee.
Synopsis[]
Molly vows to score Brighton’s first win against Perfektborg.
Plot[]
Brighton is once again up against their rival Perfektborg in a game of Turnipball. However, unlike the previous year, Brighton believes that they have a leg up in the competition with Ollie now part of the team thanks to Molly. While he is considered the best player, he has no idea how to play it, with most of his actions simply being accidents that spontaneously occur. Nevertheless, Molly pushes him up while happily declaring how this year will be different for Brighton. The Perfektborgians, lead by Coach Syvertsson, display a foul attitude that puts off the team, though they for some reason offer "kringles", churros shaped like pretzels to the Brightonians.
While Molly, Ollie and the rest of the team play, Scratch becomes distracted by Perfektborg's meatball mascot and possesses the turnip mascot to try and out do him. This leads to a series of events where Scratch fails to match up to the meatball's actions, but slowly starts to warm up to him instead and respect his demeanor. Meanwhile, Ollie, still understanding the rules, misunderstands that when one hears the vuvuzela they must freeze and gets a time out. Brighton begins to fall behind, but crumbs that resemble kringles are found in their locker room, causing the team to believe that Perfektborg has been cheating and Molly decides to investigate.
Molly runs into the Perfektborgians who, contrary to how they met, are very kind and considerate. Their attitude was their game face and it is custom to give friends kringles (the locker room kringle crumbs were left from Scratch eating the kringle basket given by the Perfektborgians). Molly admits that she thought they were cheating and just wanted their team to win. Feeling pity, the Perfektborgians agree to lose the game on purpose so that Brighton can win. Things seem to be picking up as Brighton begins to score more points, until Ollie accidentally scores the automatic loss and Perfektborg wins anyway, making both teams feel bad. Despite this, Brighton is still happy that they manage to score any points this year and Ollie is celebrated, much to Molly's confusion, burt after seeing that scoring any points is a victory for Brighton, she shares half a kringle with Scratch (who ends up eating the whole treat).
