"Life of the Party" is the second segment of the forty-second episode of the Adventures of the Gummi Bears. It premiered on September 23, 1989, and was later paired with "Bridge on the River Gummi", becoming the second segment of the third episode in the fifth season.

Plot

The lovestruck Igthorn invites Lady Bane to Drekmore to discuss an alliance against King Gregor and the Gummi Bears.

However, the Ogres have their hands on a rare tree that the Gummies urgently need to fix a leak in Gummi Glen's main hall, and use it for a table decoration instead.

Sunni and Cubbi are forced to play party crashers in order to get it back.

Trivia

• Grammi and Tummi Gummi do not appear.
• This is Lady Bane's first appearance since her introduction to the show in the episode "The Road to Ursalia", and the first appearance of her own castle.
• This is the first out of three times that Duke Igthorn and Lady Bane appear together.
• This is originally the nineteenth episode to premiere separately from its sibling segment, which aired the following week. Both segments were later combined, as originally intended, for all subsequent airings; though the episode order was flipped.
• The jiffy tree is an important magical plant that only grows once a year. It is needed for its sap, which keeps the water directly above the main hall from flooding the glen.
  • The Ancient Gummies, seeing the chance for their cubs to have fun, turned chasing the tree into a contest, a mini holiday of sorts, and whoever finds it and brings it back wins a basket of toys and candy.
  • The tree's magical sap only lasts one full year, and its seeds must be raised wild for they will die if grown any other way. Contest or no contest, the Gummies would still have to hunt for the tree once a year.
• Igthorn's Defeat: Get dumped by Lady Bane after their party is crashed by Sunni and Cubbi.
