"Lights Out" is the first segment of the twenty-seventh episode of season two of Spidey and his Amazing Friends. It premiered on August 26, 2022 along side "Sandman Won't Share!" and is the first segment of the second episode of the second season.
Synopsis[]
Team Spidey must stop Electro and Green Goblin’s attempt to keep the citizens of New York City awake all night with a super-charged lighthouse.
Plot[]
Peter is having a sleepover with his friends, Gwen and Miles. They are having a lot of fun, playing games and telling stories. That is until Aunt May tells them it is time to go to bed. However, Peter, Gwen, and Miles cannot bring themselves to go to sleep, and continue to have fun. They play flashlight tag, and recall some funny incidents that happened to them. Suddenly, their fun is interrupted by a bright light coming from outside. Suspecting trouble is afoot, the Spiders quietly suit up and head to WEB-Quarters. According to WEB-STER, the bright light is originating from Goblin Island, which means Green Goblin is behind it. He has built a lighthouse that can project an extremely bright that is enough to keep people awake all night. He even has Electro's to help him generate the extra electricity he needs for his plan.
The Spiders take the Team Transport to get to Goblin Island. However, they are forced to go underwater when Gobby and Electro shine their bright light in their faces. This allows them to sneak up on the island unnoticed. They emerge from the ocean, taking Gobby and Electro by surprise. But as soon as they step foot on the island, Gobby and Electro starting aiming the light at them, rendering them unable to see. The Spiders try to get out of the light, but it follows them everywhere they go. This allows Gobby to shoot pumkins at them. Eventually, the Spiders find shelter from the light. Inorder to take the light out they have to get to Electro. But they cannot do that with Gobby controlling the light. So, Spin decides to climb up the laptop and stop Electro, using his invisibility cloak, while Spidey and Ghosty try to get their hands on Gobby's remote.
Gobby and Electro have lost sight of the Spiders, and are trying to find them. Spin climbs up the lighthouse, and starts luring Electro's attention away from generating power to the light. This renders Gobby unable to see in the dark, and yells out to Electra to get the light back on. In her attempt to get Spin, Electro throws a ball of electricty at him and misses. She accidently hits Gobby's glider, and causes him to drop his remote. Spidey and Ghosty noticed Electra's electricity ball bounced off when it is Gobby's glider, and that gives them an idea.
Electra hovers around the lighthouse, trying to find Spin, and has a huge ball of electricity ready for him. On Spidey and Ghosty's signal, Spin becomes visible and yanks on Electro with his webs. This causes her to drop her ball of electricity towards Spidey and Ghosty. They create a web between two palm trees. The electricity ball bounces off, back towards the lighthouse. It hits the light and blows it up. Gobby and Electro's plans have been foiled.
All that is left to do is round up Gobby and Electro. However, it is now too dark to see anything. So they switch to glow webs. They swing around the island and eventually find Gobby and Electro on the beach. After wrapping them up, the Spiders now feel very tired and head home to get some much needed sleep. In the morning, Aunt May calls Peter, Gwen, and Miles for breakfast, only to find them still fast asleep.
