Little Red Riding Hood (also known simply as Red) is a character in the Silly Symphonies short The Big Bad Wolf.

In Old King Cole, Red was one of the citizens of Storyland, who attended a jazz party thrown by Old King Cole in this early Silly Symphony short.
In The Big Bad Wolf, Red must bring a basket full of food to her grandma, who is very sick. On the road, she meets the Three Little Pigs doing their usual affairs. Fiddler Pig and Fifer Pig greet her kindly and, trying to impress her, they offer themselves to make company to the girl in her way, despite Practical Pig saying that it is a bad idea. The girl accepts and they go through a forest to deliver food to her sick grandmother. The three meet "Goldilocks the Fairy Queen", who turns out to be the Big Bad Wolf in disguise. She escapes, but the wolf reaches her grandmother's house before her. When Little Red Riding Hood and the pigs reach the house, the wolf tries to eat them, but fortunately she finds refuge in a closet long enough for the other pigs to fetch their, brother Practical Pig, who rescues her.
Dumbo's Circus[]
In the episode Storybook Land, Dumbo has a dream that he and all of his friends suddenly come to a land filled with fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters after their wagon breaks. When Little Red Riding Hood is walking home from her grandmother's house, the Big Bad Wolf tries to take what is in her basket. Suddenly, Q.T. and Fair Dinkum land right on top of the Wolf after letting go of a vine that they were swinging from. Red thanks them for stopping the Wolf and gives them a map from her Grandmother's house that she went to get after hearing they were lost. She assures them that she will be all right since the Woodsman will be coming along very soon to rescue her.
Other appearances[]
In Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Red made a cameo, seen skipping around Toontown alongside Fiddler and Fifer Pig when Eddie arrives there.
In House of Mouse, Red was seen in the episode "Big Bad Wolf Daddy". When the wolf is introduced to perform, she quickly demands her check in fear.
In Redux Riding Hood, five years after the Big Bad Wolf failed to eat Red Riding Hood, he invents a time machine in an attempt to correct his greatest mistake and assist his past self in devouring Red, however no matter what the wolf tries, or how many alternate versions of the wolf are brought in, something always happens to mess him up; Grandma shooting him with a machine gun, Firemen rescuing Red, a boulder falling through the house's roof and crushing him, ETC.

- Prior to her appearance in the Silly Symphonies series, Walt Disney had a produced a version of the Little Red Riding Hood story as the first fairy tale-based Laugh-o-Gram, titled Little Red Riding Hood.
- In "The Big Flub", Gandra Dee stars as Little Red Riding Hood for a commercial for the fictional product "Pep".
