The Lone Chinese Guard is a minor character who appears in Disney's 1998 animated feature film, Mulan. Despite not well known, he does play a big part in the opening that he lights a cauldron at the Great Wall which warns all of China that they are invaded and they must prepare for war.
Background
Not much of the soldier's personality is known other than serving his duty as a guard. It is shown that he is sensitive whenever ambushes occur across the Great Wall of China to warn China that the Great Wall is under attack by the Huns.
Role in the film
The soldier's only appearance is at the beginning of the film. He is first seen patrolling the Great Wall to know if any danger is occurring. Hayabusa suddenly swoops over the guard just as he notices multiple grappling hooks on the Great Wall, alerting the soldiers that the Great Wall is under attack by the Huns. He then climbs up to a part of the Great Wall and prepares to light a cauldron to know that China is in danger just as he approaches Shan Yu and his falcon Hayabusa just as he ignites a cauldron to know that China is under attack as the other guards also sound the alarm doing this action while General Li warns the Emperor of China that Shan Yu has invaded the Great Wall. His further fate is unknown but he could have been killed or captured by the Huns.
