"Mabel's Dream Date" is the first segment of the eleventh episode of the Disney Channel series Chibiverse.[1]
Synopsis[]
Gyro Gearloose builds Mabel the perfect "dream date."
Summary[]
During dance season, Mabel Pines discovers that Chibiton Academy is holding a Chibi Hawkins Dance and is determined to find her dream date, so she, along with reluctant, but court ordered help from her Grunkle Stan, set out to find her the perfect date. Mabel holds dream date tryouts for several chibi boys close to her age, (and Billy Dilley, who crashed her interview) but none of them are able to live up to her standards so she rejects all of them until there are no chibis left, much to Stan's chagrin as failure to help his niece will result in him being forced to shave Soos.
Out of options but unwilling to give up on the dance, Mabel resolves to create the perfect date from scratch, she seeks out Gyro Gearloose and asks him for help on creating her perfect date, which he is all too happy to help with as he has a spare robot that he can program for her. Gyro begins building the robot to be exactly what Mabel is looking for while downloading all of her input into it, he also warns her not to get it wet to avoid short circuiting, until Mabel's dream date emerges in the form of Dreambot, a unicycled, sensitive but romantic robot boy with blonde hair. Mabel says that he's perfect, but Gyro warns her about how all of his inventions eventually turn evil and demands that she deactivate Dreambot by 9:00 pm, she agrees and the two fly off to the dance.
At the Chibi Hawkins Dance, Mabel is having an incredible time with Dreambot until time almost runs out, but before Mabel can deactivate him, Dreambot asks her for a kiss, which she agrees to, but is unable to before 9:00, resulting in Dreambot turning into a rocketing, evil robot who represses his feelings and takes them out on everyone else, ruining dance season. Dreambot begins destroying the dance, so Mabel resolves to destroy him, but is unsure how to do so until she remembers Gyro's warning about liquids, so she grabs the punchbowl and calls Waddles to charge into Dreambot, she prepares to dump punch onto him, before briefly considering giving him a second chance, which he rejects immediately, so Mabel drowns Dreambot, destroying him, before taking one last selfie with him.
As Gyro wheels away what's left of Dreambot, Mabel realizes that there is no such thing as a "Dream Date" and that she shouldn't have rejected any of the boys that she had chosen as candidates so soon, so she resolves to embrace imperfection and accept everyone for who they are as all of her candidates cheer for her. Billy Dilley then asks Mabel for a dance, and she happily accepts until she gets grossed out by his sweaty palms and rejects him before flinging him out of the academy.
