Mae-ho Aniseya (more commonly known as Mae) is a human and the titular main antagonist in the live-action Disney+ series The Acolyte. She is a dark side Force-user who is hunting and killing Jedi, whom she blames for causing a tragedy on her homeworld.
Background[]
Physical appearance[]
Mae is a young woman in her early twenties with dark skin, dark brown eyes, and crimson-brown braided hair. She is physically identical to Mae but differs in the length of their hair, Mae's being longer than Osha's. Mae also has a tattoo on her forehead which is covered by her bangs.
Personality[]
As a child, Mae was completely stubborn, but loyal to her coven. Mae wanted her entire world to just be revolved around her sister and their coven, not wanting anything to change her life. Despite holding great love for her sister, Koril and Aniseya, Mae was willing to (albeit accidently) kill her family just to get what she wanted. Mae was the complete opposite of her sister Osha who wished for individuality, but despite that the sisters remained quite close. While Osha was kind and gentle towards anyone, Mae was cruel and ruthless even towards her own family, although it is later revealed she hadn't intended to kill Osha when she lit the fire on the night their family was killed. She also lit the fire only after she was urged to prevent Osha from leaving by Koril.
As an adult, Mae was a bitter, angry, and vengeful woman with a strong hatred for the Jedi, blaming them for the deaths of her family and having witnessed her mother Aniseya's death at the hands of Master Sol. Mae was willing to assassinate the four Jedi who were present on her homeworld and would stop at nothing to get her revenge.

Powers[]
- The Force: Mae has a natural connection to the Force, largely due to her unnatural birth like her sister. Her connection to the Force due to her years of training in the ways of the dark side of the Force.
- Telekinesis: In her youth, Mae had experience with telekinesis which she used to hold a butterfly-creature in place.
- Force Sense: Mae can sense other sentient beings' emotions, the future, ripples in the Force caused by momentous or traumatic events, impending danger, and the presence of other light or dark side Force-users.
- Force Speed: Mae is very fast and can quickly move from one place to another when fighting her opponents.
Abilities[]
- Manipulation: Since her young age, Mae was skilled in charming and people so she can carry out her goals.
Weapons and Equipment[]
- Knives/Daggers: Mae wields small knives which she keeps hidden within her sleeves.
- Bunta: A deadly poison Mae used to kill Master Torbin.
Trivia[]
- Amandla Stenberg also plays Mae's twin sister, Mae. But the two sisters are individually played by twins Lauren Brady and Leah Brady as young girls.
