"Makeover" is the first segment of the sixth episode of The Weekenders. It premiered on April 1, 2000 alongside "The New Girl".

Synopsis[]

Lor gets asked out by Thompson and gets a whole new makeover by two girly girls.

Plot[]

Friday[]

The gang is at Funville to watch Lor beat a new record against another player at an arcade game. She manages to win, earning the adoration of the public, as well as attention from Thompson Overman, a boy whom she has a crush on. While she isn't able to get a word out, Thompson makes it known that he admires her. Before the rest of the gang can talk to her, Lor is suddenly confronted by supermodel obsessed Kristi and Kandi who take notice of Thompson's interest in her. They decide to "help" her out by taking her out and improving her image so that Thompson is sure to love her. Tino, Carver, and Tish are left alone and confused by what just happened.

Saturday[]

Lor reveals that she has decided to listen to Kristi and Kandi because she is uncertain if Thompson will actually like her for who she is. The rest of the gang decide to go with her to the mall to meet the two girls who want to make up Lor to look like their idol, Falala Goldbloom. Tino, Carver, and Tish attempt to get makeovers themselves with mixed results. Afterwards, they see Lor and discover that she has been made up to look like Kristi and Kandi, much to their shock. It also becomes apparent that Kristi and Kandi want to mold Lor into their image. A brief encounter with Thompson becomes awkward, though Lor is convinced that he likes the new her.

Tino, Carver, and Tish spy on Lor to see what Kristi and Kandi are doing with Lor. Despite hearing that Falala has malnutrition due to her strict diet, they consider it "romantic". Lor later finds her friends spying on her and tells them off. Even when she comes home to her family, her brothers are confused (mainly because they don't seem to recognize that it's their sister). Tino, once again, takes the conflict up to his mother who informs him that while the crash dieting and supermodel lifestyle are dangerous, she suggests that they still support Lor's decision to change her life as they cannot control her. Tino is left livid by the conversation.

Sunday[]

Tino brings up to Carver and Tish what his mother told him, even though he doesn't say it's from his mom (they deduce so anyway), and they reluctantly agree that they cannot control Lor. Meanwhile, Lor thanks Kristi and Kandi for the makeover, but quickly regrets it when they tell her that they have a "five year plan" for her. Tino, Carver, and Tish go to see Lor and tell her that they accept her, only to find that she has reverted to her old style and wants to be herself again. At Funville, Lor runs into Thompson and confesses what happened, news that relieves him as he also liked her old self. This news, ironically, inspires Kristi and Kandi to take on a more adventurous style.
