Manny's Sick Day is the second segment of the eighteenth episode of Handy Manny. It premiered on February 10, 2007 alongside "Join the Club". In this episode, Manny has come down with a cold and the Tools decide it's their job to help Manny feel better by having Kelly, Mr. Lopart, Mrs. Portillo, and Sherman to help as well.
Plot[]
On another day in Handy Manny's Repair Shop, Manny and the Tools are just finishing painting their picture frame. Manny is putting a coat of enamel paint on it. Squeeze thinks Manny said "animal paint", but Manny corrects her and explains it. Suddenly, Manny starts to feel unwell and he begins coughing and sneezing. Manny thinks maybe he has a cold. Pat, thinking Manny is getting cold, suggests giving him his jacket, but Manny tells him that a cold is when people sneeze or cough or don't feel very well. The Tools decide to take care of Manny while he is sick by telling him to sit down in the chair; however, not everything goes according to the Tools' plan, as the Tools try something. Dusty suggests giving Manny a tissue, but she accidentally pushes the tissue box to Fix-it's remote control, making it fall onto the floor, causing Fix-It to wake up and make a mess of Manny's repair shop. The Tools think Manny is thirsty and Felipe suggests giving him some juice. Squeeze asks Manny if he wants juice, which Manny kindly accepts. (The Spanish word for Juice is Jugo) But while preparing juice, the Tools make a bigger mess in the repair shop. Manny changes his mind and now wants hot tea instead of juice, but has no honey to prepare the tea. Rusty and Pat volunteer to go to Mr. Lopart's Candy Shop to get some honey, and Manny is uncertain whether he should let them go or not but later allows them to go.
Rusty and Pat arrive at Mr. Lopart's Candy Shop to get the honey. The Tools tell Mr. Lopart that Manny isn't feeling so well, so Mr. Lopart decides to help Manny feel better. When the Tools and Mr. Lopart arrive back at the repair shop, Pat accidentally spills a tub of paint on the floor, making a bigger mess. Manny tries to remove the paint with a sponge, but without much success. Manny says that he needs some paint remover from Kelly, so the Tools, along with Mr. Lopart, volunteer to go out and get it. Felipe counts himself and the other tools, and then count Mr. Lopart, Ocho. The tools then sing, Hop Up, Jump In. When they arrive at Kelly's Hardware Store, the Tools tell Kelly that Manny is sick, so Kelly decides to help Manny feel better by bringing some blankets to keep Manny warm. On the way back to the repair shop, they met Sherman and Mrs. Portillo. The Tools tell both of them that Manny was ill, so Sherman and Mrs. Portillo also come along to make Manny better.
When the gang arrives back at the repair shop, they see Manny sleeping peacefully on the sofa. When Sherman takes out a pair of bunny slippers, Squeeze screams in excitement, which wakes Manny up. Manny sees Kelly, Mrs. Portillo and Sherman in his store, and they tell him that they are here to take care of Manny. Manny is happy to see all of his friends in his repair shop, but suddenly, he remembers that the repair shop is a mess. Everyone helps Manny cleaned up the shop. After cleaning up, Manny begins to feel ill again, so the gang give Manny their gifts to make Manny feel better. Suddenly, Dusty begins to feel unwell and sneezes. Later, Manny and Dusty are seen sleeping together on the sofa, so the Tools decide to leave them alone to rest.
