Mantooth is a ghost featured in Wizards of Waverly Place and the sequel series, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. He is used to save the Russo family haunted house, then returns years later and reunites with Justin Russo. He is portrayed by Sean Whalen.

Mantooth has been dead for a number of years and used to scare Justin Russo by sneaking into his bedroom as a kid, which terrified Justin for years.
History[]
Mantooth first appears in the Wizards of Waverly Place episode "Halloween", when Alex Russo and Harper Finkle are sent to the ghost district of the Wizard World to find scary ghosts for the Russo family haunted house. Alex remembers Mantooth from when he used to scare Justin and hires him to scare kids. Justin is shocked to see Mantooth in front of him again, but he tells him he isn't here to hide under Justin's bed, but to save the haunted house. However, Mantooth's act is too scary for the kids, so the haunted house is shut down by Mr. Evans.
Mantooth returns years later for Halloween when Justin has his own family, in the episode "Spells Like Halloween Spirit". When Billie takes Justin back in time to the time his family set up the haunted house at the Sub Station, where Mantooth scared little kids, he recongises Justin and follows him and Billie back to the Russo Residence.
Mantooth hides under Justin's bed just like he did when he was a teenager and scares him by coming out from under the bed. This terrifies Justin, who runs downstairs as Billie comes in and meets Mantooth. Mantooth starts to scare Billie so Justin protects her and stands up to the ghost, who taunts him by doing his scariest face, but Justin is able to hold his own against the ghost and no longer fears him. Mantooth questions why Justin didn't flinch as he remembers it always used to scare Justin as a teenager. Justin says he was scared but nothing scares him more now than his children being scared. Roman and Milo Russo then enter the living room, bald, which scares Mantooth, who reveals he has a fear of bald children. Billie questions him and he realises what it is like to feel scared. Seeing how much he scared Justin, Mantooth apologises and tells him he doesn't want to make him feel afraid, and Justin realises he is no longer scared of Mantooth.

- Mantooth has the ability to make his eyes pop out of his head.
- Justin was terrified of Mantooth as a child because the ghost used to hide under his bed and scare him. Upon seeing Justin again years later, Mantooth scared him again by hiding under Justin's bed like he did in his childhood.
- He is currently the only creature/undead person to return for the sequel series.
- He is the fifth character from Wizards of Waverly Place to return for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. The first was Alex Russo, the second was Jerry Russo, the third was Theresa Russo, and the fourth was Hershel Laritate.
- Justin overcomes his fear of Mantooth in "Spells Like Halloween Spirit".
- He never knew what it was like to feel scared until he felt scared seeing Roman and Milo Russo with bald heads.
- Mantooth is never seen, in either of his appearances, in any other kind of clothing, implying what he wears is what he must have died in, and therefore is stuck wearing those clothes for all eternity.
- It's never confirmed how long Mantooth has been dead for, but considering he returns while Justin is in his mid-30s and haunted him as a child, it implies that Mantooth has been dead for at least about 40 years, by the time of "Spells Like Halloween Spirit".
